Welcome to Trillium Day School! This is where the words of Shakespeare emanate from language arts classes; art is created in the style of Pollack, DaVinci or Matisse, conversations are heard in French or Spanish, and discoveries are made in the science lab. Students are inspired to achieve through creative, hands-on, minds-on projects and activities.
Language, math, science, and social studies units are developed around a central theme. An interdisciplinary approach allows students to understand the relationship between learning and real world activities. Students at Trillium truly believe that learning can be fun.
Entering students are evaluated for placement purposes and presented work designed to challenge yet not frustrate. Our integrated curriculum allows students to understand the relationship between learning and real world activities. Hands-on, minds-on activities add interest and excitement and help develop the motivation required for success.
Field trips are planned to enrich our theme-based curriculum. Theater, historical sights, music festivals and museums help bring to life many concepts learned in the classroom. Each year, older students are invited to participate in one major field trip. Over the years, Trillium students have traveled to San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Costa Rica, and Belize. In 2003 students visited Paris and the South of France. Trillium also offers the opportunity to participate in specialized theme classes. Trips to Sea Camp in the Florida Keys and Sea World in San Antonio provided hands-on learning adventures and memorable school experiences.
