Located at The Woodlands Mall on the upper level in a 40,000 square foot facility, The Woodlands Children’s Museum provides hands-on, interactive learning experiences that stimulate curiosity and create opportunities for learning in a nurturing setting for infants and children up to ten years old. Exhibits like Dinoventure provide a dinosaur dig experience, while Bank It, International Market and Fun Café provide a venue for interactive play and modeling real life behavior with parents or other friends. Read-A-Lot Kingdom sets the stage for imaginative play through theatre and costumes and Story-Time brought to the children by Borders. The MUSE provides an open studio setting for children to sit and create with the medium provided for the month such as colored pencils, chalk, paint, crayons or markers. Other processes available on special days noted on the calendar are clay, printmaking and papermaking.
Museum Camp provides summer enrichment opportunities for children 4-10 years old. Various art mediums from drawing, painting, clay and weaving to assembling and decorating kaleidoscopes and rainsticks provide hands-on exposure to the creative processes. Sizzling science experiments, theatre games, crazy about critters, No Boyz Allowed, and the ever popular construction wizardry and robotics help build positive self-esteem and strengthen teamwork and social skills.
Museum Explorers provides educators planning field trips a choice of topic-specific, museum educator-led courses that enhance the basic museum visit. “What’s Up With That?” provides outreach educational opportunities to area pre-schools, while Toddler Time presents alternative and creative ways of presenting communication and movement for babies and toddlers up to 3 years old through sign language, movement and music.
Discovery Workshops, a collection of enrichment classes, provides preschool and home school students, ages 3, 4 and 5, topics in reading readiness, music, movement and art.
Birthday party packages provide a party room and activities related to various themes. Museum facility rental packages for corporate events or meetings are available, too.
