The mission of the Chicago Chesed Fund is to pragmatically assist individuals and families from across the Chicago area facing a wide variety of crises. Our mission includes ensuring that help is temporary since the CCF addresses not only the emergency but also the cause of the problem. This enables clients to recover from their trauma and move forward, no longer needing services. The philosophy driving the CCF is: People sometimes need a helping hand to get through difficult times - and with proper assistance they can become stronger and more independent.
All services are offered to those in need on a non-discriminatory basis, although the CCF is focused on the Jewish community, reaching individuals and families throughout metropolitan Chicago. The CCF is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization with an annual budget of nearly $4 million dollars.
The CCF operates with minimal administrative expenses. Contributions come from individual donors and foundation partners.
