Dr. Karen L. Seder grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. She attended the University of Florida and received her B.A. in Communication Processes and Disorders in 1993. She graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University Dental School in 1997, followed by a two-year residency at Northwestern University in Orthodontics, receiving a Master of Science in 1999. Following the completion of her graduate training, Dr. Seder remained at Northwestern University dental School until its closure in May of 2001 serving as both an assistant clinical professor in the orthodontic department and a member of the cleft lip and palate team. While on faculty, Dr. Seder lectured, provided hands on training to the dental students and was responsible for over 300 orhtodontic patients within the school clinic. Dr. Seder is a member of several professional organizations, including The American Association of Orthodontics, The Illinois Society of Orthodontists, The Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, The American Dental Association, The Illinois State Dental Society, The Chicago Dental Society and the American Association of Women Dentists. She also holds and active dental license in both Illinois and Florida.
